Writing and the love of writing is something we at Cookridge try to instill in all aspects of the curriculum.
All our Literacy blocks of work take a half term.
Over the course of the year we will cover:
- recounts
- Stories - with different genres E.g traditional tales, repetitive stories
- Persuasion
- Non-chronological reports
Within these blocks the children will be given targets appropriate to the style of writing we will focus on.
Please ask the teaching staff what your child's target is or even your child!
Below is an example of a child's writing from Year 2.
The first picture is at the start of the Year and the second picture is by February half term.
Below is another example of a boy's writing in Year 1, at the start of the year and the second by April.
